Strawberry Dumplings Recipe
Do you like apple dumplings? If your answer is yes, then you must take some time and look at my presentation of this interesting and a very tasty remake of a classic treat which is a favorite for all of us.
When I made my first Apple Dumplings last year, not only did they become a staple diet in our household, they are one of the most popular recipes on my blog. Quickly, they had competition – Perfect peach dumplings! And really, whichever fruit you use, you simply must love dumplings! Crescent rolls are baked in a sauce made with a lot of butter and brown sugar spiced up with vanilla and cinnamon, they really get an interesting and tasty texture. The downside of the roll stays soft and juicy and the top becomes crispy and irresistible.
Since after apples, my experiment with peaches went better than good, it was only a question of what was the next fruit to use. Since the season of juicy strawberries is at it’s peak, it was only logical that I chose them. In reality, in the beginnig, I did have some doubts of how it would all come out, will I be disappointed by the combination with strawberries after the fantastic Peach and Apple dumplings.
But, I only came to peace when I began to work. When my Strawberry Dumplings were done, and when I tried them, I saw that it was no mistake!!! The only mistake was that they were so good that it was impossible to eat only one. They were better then all the previous dumplings! And, when you begin eating them, it is very hard to stop. I hardly managed to save a few pieces for taking photos. So, I must warn you, if you decide to try this recipe, do it at your own risk. Think about it long and hard.

Great dessert. My family loved it!
These look so good! They also look like the perfect summer dessert. Can you tell me what kind of crescent rolls you used? Are they regular or butter? Also have you tried making this with pie crust instead?
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I haven’t tried this with pie crust. You can use regular crescent rolls or puff pastry sheet and cut it in triangles.
What is puff pastry and where do you buy it?????
Hi Wanda,
it’s flaky, layered pastries and you can find at frozen section in a market.
I’ve made numerous types and I found the generic crescent rolls, not low fat, work the best.
I am going to try these with a dollop of nutella in with the strawberries. Sounds great and thanks for sharing your recipe
Thanks Aly 🙂
Hello Vera. Can I use something else besides lemon soda? These look amazing and want to make them. Thank you
Yummy! I love strawberries and this looks absolutely delicious! I am pinning this so I don’t forget and will have to try the apple and peaches too! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Russell, it’s lemon flavored drink like 7 Up, Sprite, Fanta-lemon…
I don’t have access to any lemon flavored soda. Can I use pineapple soda or coconut soda?
Hi Wanda, you can use it.
Can frozen (and then defrosted)strawberries be used?
Hi Jessica, I haven’t tried but I think you could go with that. Let me know if you try 🙂
I’m not the author of the recipe
But when I bought frozen strawberries one time they had no TASTE and no color

Are the strawberries prepared with sugar or anything?
Hi Daniel, no they are not, it’s just fresh strawberries.
I have made this with Apple’s but I will make this with the strawberries. I like that you made this with them.
Thanks,
Made this for my husband’s birthday to rave reviews. Making it for company tonight. Making it again for a back sale next week. Using dark sweet cherries (not pie filling). Easy, yummy, and impressive!!
This sounds yummy!! I am going to try it with a square of dark chocolate in each one!
where can I get lemon soda? I have never heard of this.
Hello! Excited that I have found ur site! U have some wonderful recipes!!! Looking forward to making this… However, I was wondering, I see it says to serve these warm, so does that mean making them the day before serving would not be recommended?
Thanks!
Can’t wait!!!!
Thanks Gaby:)
It should be serve warm, the butter will harden when the sauce is chilled, but you could reheat them. I personally like to eat them cold but they are not so juicy and soft as warm dumplings.
Why soda

What about a small square of cream cheese in with strawberries?
HI Kathy, it sounds good!
This recipe has no detail! You never even mention how many the recipe makes ! How much of the strawberry mixture do you place on the dough! Very poorly written!
1 sticks butter. How much goes in baking dish and how much goes in recipe?
I’m not 100% sure but it sounds like to me that you use the whole stick in the recipe and butter pan separately
Great one, as usual ! 🙂
Can I use something besides soda since I don’t buy soda
Has anyone tried it with another drink. I do not like lemon soda but not quite sure what would work.
Your recipe is superb. I have made apple dump.ings for a long time this way..now I have a recipe fostrawberry. I made them and received rave reviews from all who ate them. As for your comment that you received claiming the recipe was poorly written..well thats just pure BS… you use a can of Cresent rolls which have 8 in the, hence..8 serving….. but some folk will complain no matter what. I use splenda brown sugar just to help cut the calorie intake and they were excellent
??.thats just fyi.. Thank you
I wish I could share a picture of how mine turn out! I made this recipe twice. Once for my boyfriends birthday breakfast and the other for a dessert for a relative birthday party. I wonder if anyone has tried to add cream cheese to the wrap? The next time I make it I think I will try it!
For my oven it was finished in 25 minutes. Yum yum yum!
What kind of lemon soda?
I made these. They are very, very sweet. Also you say “pour over the dumplings.” By your pictures YOU did NOT do that….. I did. The whole dessert is dark brown. The very rich, sweet sauce was all I could taste. It was good…. almost candy-ish. BUT I could not even taste the strawberries. It tasted like a cinnamon bun smothered in sauce. Interesting.
Can these be made a day before then add all the liquid needed just before baking?
Hi, I got this recipe off of 12 tomatoes. It was super good. However it was for 16 dumplings. I have come to your sight to ask a couple of questions. Plus I copied off your recipe for only 8 which is so much better!! They say to mush strawberries into the brown sugar syrup. Very difficult to do. You don’t say to do that. Great because I was going to suggest to mush them Before putting in the sauce. Also, they say to slice the strawberries. Found them to be too big. Was going to suggest that you dice the strawberries before putting in the rolls making it much easier. However, I see that your recipe does say to dice them. Both things they said to do, you do not say. Thanks for that as it will make this delicious recipe so much easier!!! I was wondering , however, can you freeze them.? I have a lot left and it would be great if I could. Also, the ads drove me crazy trying to print your recipe. Finally had to use the “snipping tool”. Thanks again for the great recipe.
Several people in my area (in Arkansas) make the apple dumplings using this method – they use Mountain Dew for the soda ingredient.
